Thrillist.com is a free, subscription-based email newsletter and website catering to male, urban professionals in their twenties and thirties. Separate editions of the newsletter focus on points of interest in New York City (launched 2005), Los Angeles (launched 2006), San Francisco (launched 2007), Chicago (launched 2007), Las Vegas (launched 2007), Boston (launched 2008), Miami (launched 2008), Atlanta (launched 2008), Philadelphia (launched 2009), Washington D.C. (launched 2009), Dallas (launched 2009), Seattle (launched 2009), Austin (launched 2009), and its first international edition, London (launched March 2010). The company also publishes a National edition that profiles trend and lifestyle content without a specific geographic focus.

Among its various editions, Thrillist's reach was approximately 1.7M subscriptions as of Q1, 2010. With the exception of the Las Vegas edition, which publishes only on Tuesdays (and the weekly seasonal Hamptons edition), subscribers to the newsletters receive morning emails Monday-Friday. Each city edition focuses on new restaurants, bars, gadgets, travel, stores, sales, and other demographically-targeted services in the area.

Individuals can subscribe to one or multiple city editions. In addition to emails, Thrillist has put all of its content online at Thrillist.com. Here, visitors (who need not be email subscribers), can sort through content by region and topic.

The site also features a “My Thrillist” feature that allows registered users to save their favorite content in order to view it again later. Thrillist frequently hosts events for its readers and advertisers in the cities in which it publishes. Previous events have been well attended and have resulted in positive press.

Some particularly notable recent events include: the company’s Boston launch party, held at Foundation Lounge; a Prohibition Repeal Day party in Chicago in 2008; a house party held in conjunction with Showtime at 23 Gramercy Park South, a Manhattan townhouse the interior of which had been renovated by various artists to reflect the themes of Showtimes’ 2008-2009 lineup; and a 2008 event in which Jet Blue flew 150 readers and friends of the brand to Las Vegas for a 36-hour event. To reprise the success of Jet Vegas, Thrillist and Jet Blue again teamed up for Jet Mystery, a 3-day surprise destination adventure that took another 150 readers and friends all the way to Jamaica. Additionally, Thrillist launched its Austin edition during the 2010 South by Southwest Festival at Stubb's BBQ, and featured live performances by Kid Sister, White Denim, and Eclectic Method.
