So I'm not sure how it works for other states, but I seriously just got SIX envelopes of paperwork from the Maine Department of Labor. ALL from the SAME place. Really?!?! Apparently my taxes have been used to buy envelopes and fund the logging industry and all the trees that were killed in the process. WTF? One envelope woulda been JUST fine............

I'm 33 and for the first time in my ENTIRE life I am officially "unemployed." No health insurance. No dental. Nothing. Been working since I was 15 (12 if you count babysitting). Terrified doesn't even begin to describe it. Words of wisdom are being accepted and are appreciated.

Did a phone interview today. They are supposed to call next week to set up an in person interview. Now I just need some luck!

It's awful to say, but I should have stayed unemployed and kept collecting unemployment. I'd be getting more money!

I keep wondering about the data the media is reporting concerning blacks and President Obama. The numbers are off in my opinion. How can it be 16% unemployed blacks compared to Whites 9% when the black population is only 9%? What about the unemployment data for other ethnic groups? Clearly unemployment in this country is not a black and white person issue. The media is pitting a black people issue because President Obama is an black president. No, it is a 14 million unemployed people in the country issue. Why don't they ask the corporations and the folks that were bailed out. Where are the jobs? Lest the forgotten, jobs were stolen and taken over seas to capitalized on cheap labor, leaving most Americans unemployed, forced into retirement and laid off. Matter ask Mitt Romney about how he closed down a plant? President Obama inherited a failing economy that crashed as soon as President Bush boarded the helicopter. My mother just got let go today. Long story. Now I gotta worry about how things will change. Ew. :(
