Borders was where I took my daughter for story time & Harry Potter midnight parties. Great memories. So sad that the store is still empty & I pass it all the time. : (

Stopped by to see what I could add to my collection but they're not yet at the point where you should go if you don't have to. I grabbed a book by Isabel Allende (love her), One Day by David... more

Melissa @LadyDi2 I didn't know what button to vote. There needs to be a "sad" or "sucks" button! I don't even have a barnes and noble near me. Used to in Florida, but always loved borders more!! Aaaaahhhhh!!!! I think I might cry :( I seriously love my books. Take such good care of them to build a nice library and soon it'll be gone. Short reads are for kindle, but the fave author's and novels must be the real thing to display on a nice bookshelf. Some to be reread. I am seriously bummed over this!!!!! Thanks for sharing that. I knew they were in big trouble and closing but haven't read my e-mail lately. I feel bad for the authors they're going to take a big negative hit from this!!! Worldwide Petition time!!?? CD's to MP3 or iPod is one thing, but taking away books...SMH....will never be the same!! -
LadyDi2 They can't be saved, their bankruptcy in the beginning of the year was supposed to help but as the CEO stated, it did not. I am so sorry for all the people affected by the loss of this book establishment. I saw Russell Simmons in the one that is now closed. I managed to get some pics from afar as the line was horrendous.
Sadly more businesses are falling off due to many reasons, employee/non employee theft, financial difficulties, corrupt insiders and the list goes on. We an only remind of ourselves of the stories we heard about that ONE store that sold everything but was 90 miles away from everything. It's almost were we are headed. -
LadyDi2 PS - the cell phone app, for now, still has the old useful, funny, *draws blank on other word*.
