This BBC comedy set in 1940s England features James Herriot (Christopher Timothy) as a veterinarian assigned to the Yorkshire practice of Siegfried Farnon (Robert Hardy)and his mischievous brother Tristan (Peter Davison). Joining the Farnon brothers' already successful business, James's work takes him on a variety of adventures, which are just as often caused by the characters of the county as by the animals in his care.
