FanKeith, Keith, Keith... why did you have to go and mess up another one of your shows with your bridge-burning stunts? Come on man- your commentary is intelligent and thought-provoking but is all this... more

John O Oh come on now. Hyatt is no choir boy but he's not the demon Olbermann and his lawyer are apparently making him out to be. Olbermann was brought in, in part to help revitalize the Current brand. He didn't. Ratings were abysmal and Keith's frequent absences, apparent refusal to do promos and continued friction with staffers, just like at MSNBC and ESPN were a big part of this.
Believe me- I have been a big fan of Keith's shows, his excellent commentary and perspective. However, if even half the amateurish, ego-manical, prima donna stuff that has been reported about his strained relationships with the networks he's worked for is true, Keith has to look in the mirror before he and his attorney start pointing fingers. -
KimyMorrisonZeamer @john_olsen I agree but it is with a very heavy heart! Personally I believe that at this point the only avenue that Olbermann has yet to alienate, and the only one that may prove to revitalize his floundering career would be a pod cast. (sighs and tosses a single rose into the raising flames of what was one "Countdown with Keith Olbermann") <3 Good night and good luck. <3 -
John O I wish Keith all the best- I have been a loyal viewer of his shows since Countdown first began on MSNBC. He is incredibly gifted and articulate and will land on his feet again. It is just frustrating because it didn't have to be this way imho, and there are all too few progressive voices of reason like him out there.

FanThis was the only show I watched on Current. Now I will not be watching the channel anymore.

FanCan't believe they fired Keith ... Spitzer is not an acceptable replacement. Done with Current TV!

obituary mambo I'm going to wait ans see. I think he deserves a shot given his support of the Occupy movement. Here's hoping his coverage is close to as good as Keith's was.

FanWow! This is surprising. Does anyone know what specifically Olbermann did that was considered out of compliance with Current TV's codes of conduct?

Delusional Angel He was fired. -
daddyslilheiressfashionista Ooh ok, thanx -
John Olsen Major bummer, but Keith was his own worst enemy when it came to burning bridges with his employers.

Actually this is great news. Maybe he'll go back to being the best thing on MSNBC?

John Olsen Maybe he'll end up doing celeb boxing or something crazy like that. It's a shame really, because he is a really smart, articulate guy with a refreshing progressive perspective, but he clearly has ego issues. 3 firings in a row- it's not the employer. -
bill baxter Olbermann on celebrity boxing -- that's a big money idea. Actually a little stoked by this situation -- didn't have any access to this 'current tv', haven't seen a single episode since he made the move. Would be great for me if somebody picked his show up, but you're right, the pattern suggests against it. -
John Olsen Yeah I am wondering if this will be the media equivalent of his Rubicon or Waterloo... but hey he keeps coming back, just like Clinton so don't count him out.

FanKeith, Keith, Keith...what happened now?? Your commentary is thoughtful & spot-on but let go by three employers in a row? Ever wonder if maybe it's you and not them? Sigh...
-
Michele Huh... I've only recently watched so not really aware of that history. -
John Olsen Keith is brilliant but he's always been a prima donna with a big ego. He was fired by ESPN and MSNBC before going to Current TV. He's still blaming it on the network though and now he is expected to file a huge lawsuit against Current & Al Gore to try and recoup the rest of his over-inflated contract.
Don't get me wrong- I like Keith's commentary but third time in a row- I think he's gotta look in the mirror.

obituary mambo Zimmerman's dad is grasping at straws if he read hatred into the President's statement.

Spitzer is actually pretty good. I hope Current can do something with him. He's obviously not comfortable reading Olbermann script, but he was getting comfortable and fluid on CNN. Plus, i can't... more
