watched this last night. Such a great story with amazing location and set designs. Some of the guest actors are a bit ott but then it would be expected from the scripting.

I'm deeply proud of the @HooOnWho segment on #TheMasqueOfMandragora - I don't think I worked on a segment for as long since the #TVMovie segment. This one was very personal to me as it was deeply personal connection with that story as my older brother Fred was always my '#CountFederico' in a good way. Kinda one of the reasons why I work in #EarlyMusic now.

This has been a very hard one indeed - not only because of my personal affection for this story, but the care that the musical elements needed to be treated as there is just so much that works in this story, with only a few negatives to comment on...but that is mostly on a musicological level (and dealing with the stock music)!

The @HooOnWho (Hoo On Who) #MasqueOfMandragora segment is ballooning to be sure. Topics to cover include #Masques, #Chant, #Branles, #BasseDanse, #Istampitta/ #Estampie, #Crumhorn, #Sackbutt, #Viol, #Recorder, not even to mention that 2 of the 3 stock pieces were published 30-50 years AFTER the events of the story. This is all IN ADDITION to the discussion on #DudleySimpson's exceptional score for this one! Some of his best action music to be sure & he does a great job of using the acoustic elements to represent the Earthly aspects of the lot while the synthesizers emphasize the other-worldly influence of #Mandragora.
