Erin Fay Smart move using the correct name and them not knowing it lol! Goes to show how much research goes into these making these laws, especially considering Pit Bull isn't even a real breed name. I wish law makers stupidity actually surprised me. -
Hoku Sarroca What potential dog owners need to do is really study the breed b4 hand. I started reading up on GSD's when I was in elementary school... I studied about berger blanc suisse b4 I even thought about getting one. I had to know what the pros and cons where about owning one.. and asked myself could I put the time into training one. Studied that breed for 7yrs before saying yup sure can handle one. Insurance companies will not go through each breeds correct names. I saw another dog I wanted " Thunderhawk Caucasian mountain dog... they are beautiful but I knew at my age I could not tackle a breed like that. it's like owning a 45magnum in the dog world. b4 I adopted this new shelter dog.. they told me he was settler/lab.. I read up on settlers since I had never owned a settler b4.. but he ended up to be lab/shepherd... when I saw him. it was a breeze LOL even tho I've never owned a lab LOL I'm not one to get a dog just cause it's cute ... I have to know what their breed is about. and that's... -
Erin Fay My dog decisions have been spur of the moment. My retriever showed up in my yard 1 day and after not being able to find his owner I kept him. My chihuahua mix came from a neighbor being evicted and having nowhere for the dog to go. I'm very lucky with these two because their easy breezy. Then I fostered a dog for a terrible rescue who told me she was full black lab...they transported her to me and I was surprised to see she a lot Pit Bull. I've always waanted one but I'm too much of pushover for one lol. She was a power house! I have a few scars from her dragging me through a parking lot trying to catch a truck lol! Thankfully I found her the perfect home. But it proves what your saying about researching a breed before bringing it home. You know what you can and can't handle and people like you help me to be more self assured when rescueing and placing dogs :)

This episode about Baby Girl is so sad! No wonder the poor thing wouldn't eat - she had cancer.

FanI wonder if people who can't control their dogs can be good parents.
-
Gail Spaulding Good question! -
JoanW @zoegail I'm a public librarian, and I frequently see parents who have given up on their toddlers and other young children, letting them act any way they want in public. I'd love to tell them that if they can't control their children when they're little, they have little hope of influencing them when they're teenagers.
