SiN wYrM @izzypop It's not too bad. A little hokey, but that's also the charm of it. I'm a couple of episodes in now and will certainly be going back to watch more, if that's any sort of endorsement.

Yes, yes, we get it. The series can't hold a candle to the books, and you're right. But it doesn't mean the serious isn't a good way to get others to jump into the books.

Courtney I hate it when people compare adaptations. Yes, they're based on the same premise, but they usually evolve in different directions. I was lucky enough to see the series first and read the books after, so I didn't have the whole 'BOOKS ARE BETTER' bias going in.
