I abhor the death penalty, but such heinous crimes like an able-bodied soldier murdering 16 innocent children, men and women clearly deserves the ultimate penalty in the military justice system. The military and civilian worlds are different, where discipline is utmost, "petty" crimes like desertion and cowardice are severe in the eyes of the military, otherwise what will happen to the change of command, unit cohesion and regimentation?
