There are four types of tv shows I tend to dislike sight unseen, and those are shows about doctors, lawyers, cops, and sports. That said, this show, about a small-town Norfolk solicitor, is just all kinds of wonderful. It helps, of course, that the lead is played by the always watchable Stephen Fry. It reminds me a bit of John Sayle's short-lived SHANNON'S DEAL, in that it seems to deliberately keep its protagonist out of the courtroom and instead has him dealing with friend and foe alike on a one-to-one basis, giving the show a sense of heart and immediacy that the genre as a whole largely lacks.

I just discovered this British series on Netflix and I love it. Stephen Fry is wonderful and so are the other actors/characters.
