Everybody has been talking about this so thought I would check it out.

Stoneinfl I don't know why, but Ree seems to elicit really strong emotions from people. Either they really like her style, or the really can't stand her. Personally I enjoy the show and her cooking.

Oh my GOD! This is the dumbest, most annoying cooking show since Sandra Lee blended her first cocktail! How the hell do people like this get their own show? And she's hardly a "pioneer woman"... more

Bill She sounds like a robot. No emotion at all -
Pfyre read her blog & books - she seems to be pretty much what you see - she hss her detractors much like Paula Dean and Rachele Ray but it comes across as more sour grapes than anything else -
Livingturd I did get a couple good recipes from her, I'll give her that. :)

Did anyone notice that on today's show, she was cutting up that meat for the sandwich, and she never mentioned what it was?

Stoneinfl @Blueyedflicka_29 Thanks. I had gone to the Food Network site before I posted. I thought it was strange they didn't post a recipe for that or the pasta today. I was going to Ree's site to look for the sandwich recipe when I got a chance, but figured it would take awhile to find since I didn't know exactly what she was calling it. Thanks for the help. :) -
Amber N. Wiese @Stoneinfl your welcome :-)

FanFinally watched an episode. She seems really uncomfortable. The food was nothing you can't find in any church or service organization cookbook. It was picked up for a second season. Just shows that... more

Patrick D Simmons I find her obnoxious. She comes off as very pampered and conservative.

Andrea Abbicci @Stoneinfl I really like the d2d book, she did a great job. She has a ton of ways to save money. One of the simplest ways to save money is not to use so much butter. I love butter but you can only eat so much of anything. Looking at Pw's books I thought the meals seemed pricey based on my supermarket prices but I cut up my own purchased chickens and grind my own beef, so what do I know. and making your own stock 4 or 5 times a year saves a bunch and ut just plain tastes better. -
Stoneinfl @andrea_gleason Ah, maybe you're misreading who Ree's market is (or I'm misunderstanding what you're meaning). I see it as soccer moms (and me who certainly doesn't qualify) who might like to save money, but the dollar or two per meal isn't going to make it or break it. That's who I see Ree being popular with. One of my clues (and I could be way off) is the "advertisers" on her website who are providing giveaways are pretty high-end kitchen appliances. I would think they would want to be getting their products in front of the soccer mom audience as opposed to one who is watching the price of their meals. -
Andrea Abbicci @Stoneinfl I see her market as fantasists. The cowboy romance readers with a heavy dose of christian homeschoolers. I think the food is secondary. Her core audience buys her book it doesn't matter what the book is. They do seem to have the disposable income :)
