This and Perfect Storm convinced me that The Stand wasn't a fluke. Stephen King should stick to miniseries.
-
Allyson <3s.hoodies-n-skittles er..I mean't Storm of the Century. I always misname it. LOL -
Jenn Stephen king novels should always go the way of mini series. But his short stories are amazing in film. <3. Loved The Mist. Can't wait to see The Dome if they ever do it for tv. -
Allyson <3s.hoodies-n-skittles I agree. They seem to be able to handle his short stories for movies much better.

Wanted to check out the differences between the Kubrick masterpiece and the King approved version.
-
Markus @scott_riggall yea I agree. Part 1 although quite detailed; was a bit of a dragged start for me and I didn't like tony lol -
Scott Riggall Yeah, it's funny I thought the same exact thing.I think it would have been ten times better to just not have cast Tony at all, kept him invisible all together. -
Markus @scott_riggall have you read the book? Wonderful detailed although a scary read :)

I liked the book's ending better, but wadda ya gonna do
-
Brandon "Dr. D2" Ivey The book ending and the mini series ending are the same. The Jack Nicholson version isn't. The difference is that King was a producer on the miniseries and helped write the script/teleplay. -
Brook Bobbitt Thanks. Am aware of this. It was due to the change in ending if Jack Nicholson film that King took control of his work in film. :D have a nice night

I still say that this is better than Kubrick's over-the-top, meandering, storyless version. Maybe it's because I care about the characters in this one. Why? Because they have...character.
-
Brandon "Dr. D2" Ivey It actually follows the book, unlike the Kuberick version where King wasn't involved at all. King was a producer and helped writebthe teleplay.
