S4E4 "Identity" With an life changing reveal about one of the main characters in the first few minutes we immediately know that this episode could also affect everything we may know or see for the remainder of the season. As Lydia and Ruben try to solve a case that leads to a single mother doing everything she can to protect her daughter, at whatever cost. Sammy tries to deal with the consequences of a firing his weapon during a chase, while Ben contemplates moving. Meanwhile Jessica and John try to help a homeless man, that turns into something very personal for Jessica.

In its subtlety, in handling the everyday cases that each of them encounter, this season has really developed these characters in a much deeper sense, as we begin to see how their lives have and are changing, and how even the small things reveal more about them then we would expect.

Thankfully, TNT picked up Southland and I think the Season's are better now than ever!!

Love this show, it's one of my Fav's! I can't believe it got cancelled by the networks! I was so upset! But thankfully TNT

I don't like the Lydia story line, its slow and breaks the rhythm. The john Cooper and the ben Sherman plots are great. I hope Lucy Liu stays on as a regular. She is great for this show.
