I've had this on DVD since it was released and it's taken me until now to really sit and watch it. It's amazing how ahead of its time the series was as far as a continuous storyline and animation techniques. In addition, what stands out to me as opposed to other 80s cartoons is Mumm-Ra. He's a legitimate and serious threat to the Thundercats as opposed to (and I say this with love) the comedy figures that Skeletor and Cobra Commander were. Even his minions, though somewhat bumbling, are not the moronic fools you were to expect from 80s bad guys. This adds a terrific and interesting dynamic that really separates THUNDERCATS from the rest of its contemporaries with the good guys in real danger in every episode. Loved it as a kid. Appreciate the series even moreso now.

Just started rewatching this today with Connor. Starting from season 1 episode 1 as we speak. Connor seems to enjoy it as much as I did!
