starring David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson
The conspiracy spiraled even further in the third season of The X-Files, which picks up with FBI Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) on a desperate search for her missing partner, Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny). Though Mulder was left for dead after having suffered serious bodily harm in a train explosion, a group of Navajo Indians nursed him back to health and offered what help they could to the agents' quest to find the ever-elusive truth.

gregfreeland favorited and reviewed this via the iPhone2 monthsThe X-Files took the throne as the zeitgeist of the 90s! A show emerging from pop culture's growing mistrust of the government, obsession with modern folklore, and the new but ever expanding frontier of the internet. The X-files enjoyed both great success and dismal failure. The twisting and turning under-current of its own rich evolving mythology of government conspiracies and alien colonization turned away average viewers that were hungry to enjoy the more stand alone "monster of the week" episodes. The show started to fizzle out as long running show headliners, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson both took various leaves of absence from the show and the continuity heavy plot themes strangled the make-shift replacement cast. Still, the show has some amazing stand out episodes that ABSOLUTELY stand the test of time! If you're hungry for Cryptozoology, Vampires, Aliens, Ghosts, and other unspeakable horrors, know that THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!

CardinalIron liked and reviewed this on blockbuster.com1 week"The X-Files" shouldn't have worked. It was a show on a network that is now notorious for cancelling sci-fi shows. When it premired it was on a friday night. It had two relatively unknown lead actors. For all accounts this should have ended after its first season. Yet "The X-Files" lasted nine seasons. Created some of the most interesting villians from FBI mole Krycek, to The Ciggerate Smoking Man. The show was at its best when it was either really scary like in "Home", or really silly like in "Jose Chung's From Outer Space". It made conspiracsy theorists heroes, and said all those urban legends that are looked at as phony, really do exist, if you take the time to look for them.

Gordon F liked and reviewed this on netflix.com2 weeksSeason 1 was alright, good enough to keep going. Season 2 I actually quite watching when it was on the air. Season 3 is where it started to get good. Seasons 4-6 were awesome. Seasons 7-8 had moments of genius mixed with all the alien-government stuff I seriously disliked. Season 9 went full on government cover-up story line that I really did not like in the show. I preferred all the one-off monster of the week shows much more. Anderson and Duchovny do have an amazing on screen partnership and I have to say I was happy when they ended the series together.
